Summer 2022
Mini Camps for Ages 3-11

DESCRIPTION

Ballet Mini Camp is a four-day mini ballet camp experience. Each Mini Camp will include classes in ballet technique, ballet variations (learning choreography), ballet history and craft time. The theme of each Mini Camp week will be different, so your child can sign-up for as many camps as you'd like, with a new experience each week!

DROP-OFF AND PICK-UP

Parents should bring their child into the Project Ballet lobby and wait for class to begin. Please plan to arrive about five minutes early to change into ballet shoes and take off your coat, etc. A minute or two before class is scheduled to start, our staff will take attendance and have the children line-up in the lobby to head into the classroom. Once the children have left with their teacher to begin camp, parents are free to leave or you may wait in our lobby. Please make sure to return promptly at the end of the hour. Your child's teacher will bring them back out to the lobby when camp is over.

PARENT OBSERVATION

A portion of camp on Thursday will be open for parent observation. Preparatory camps will have observation during the last 20 minutes on Thursday. Preschool camp will have observation during the last 15 minutes on Thursday. We will show you our new ballet skills and a short dance that we prepared for the performance!

SUPPLIES

Preschool Campers (ages 3-4):

Dancers are required to wear ballet slippers. Ballet slippers can be purchased at Standing Ovation Performance Apparel, at stores such as WalMart or Target, or online. Traditionally, females wear pink ballet slippers, and males wear black or white ballet slippers, but any color is perfectly fine for Preschool Ballet classes. Female dancers are encouraged to wear ballet clothes such as a leotard and tights, however the dress code at our Preschool level is very relaxed so they will be permitted to wear any comfortable clothing that allows them to move freely and modestly. Long hair should be pulled back off the face in a ballet bun, pony tail, or similar style.

Preparatory Campers (ages 5-11):

Female dancers are required to wear ballet slippers, tights and a leotard. Any colors are fine for camp. Leotards may be any style and color, however leotards should NOT have attached skirts, shorts, or tutus. Just a plain bathing-suit style leotard, please. Simple rhinestones or bows, etc. are permitted, and any style sleeves are permitted. Male dancers are required to wear a plain solid color short-sleeve t-shirt, basketball or gym shorts, socks, and ballet slippers. Any colors are fine for camp. Please select a t-shirt size that is not too baggy or oversized, so that the teacher can easily see your child's movements.

Ballet slippers can be purchased at Standing Ovation Performance Apparel, at stores such as WalMart or Target, or online.

Long hair should be pulled back off the face in a ballet bun, pony tail, or similar style.

TUITION

Preschool Camp is $40 for a 4-day camp session and Preparatory Camp is $50 for a 4-day camp session. Tuition is non-refundable. In the case of quarantine or illness, there will not be a virtual option and your child will not receive a make-up lesson. Please note: if Project Ballet would need to cancel the class due to low enrollment, your full tuition will be refunded.

COVID PRECAUTIONS

- Students may not attend if they are ill or if they have been placed under quarantine. In the case of individual quarantine or illness, there will not be a virtual option and your child will not receive a make-up lesson or a refund.

- If government Covid restrictions were to prevent us from gathering in-person, a virtual option will be offered at the same date and time as your normal in-person class.

- You may choose whether or not you would like your child to wear a mask. However, in the case of a government mask mandate, age-mandated children would be required to wear a mask or forfeit their spot in the class without a refund. Most of our instructors choose not to wear a mask.
