ENROLLMENT AND LEVEL PLACEMENT
The Full-Day Intensive is for dancers ages 10 and up who have been placed in Project Ballet Levels 4, 5 or Advanced (or equivalent*) for the 2021-2022 school year. Enrollment is conducted on a weekly basis. Each week is limited to thirty participants. Students will be split into three levels. (Summer intensive levels will not necessarily correspond to school-year level placement, but rather, will be divided up each week based on the demographic of students enrolled for that particular week and the best use of studio capacity limits for that particular group of students.)
*Guest or new students should contact the Artistic Director () to arrange for a virtual or in-person level placement evaluation.
Intensive will be from 9:30am-3:45pm, Monday-Friday. Each week will include over 25 hours of classes, including classes in ballet technique, pointe, men's, contemporary, contemporary pointe, variations, and repertory. Exact class schedule and offerings will depend on the student's level placement. Classes will be taught by Project Ballet faculty and alumni. Students will have a 45 minute lunch break mid-day.
Tuition is $300 per week. A minimum $50 deposit (per week) is due a registration. A payment plan option will be available at check-out. Tuition is non-refundable except in the case of documented illness or injury documented by a doctor's note. A doctor's note must be produced by 4:00pm on the Friday prior to the Monday of the intensive week starting, if a refund is to be given. Please note, if the intensive is canceled by Project Ballet, then a full tuition refund will be provided to all registrants.
PERFORMANCE AND OBSERVATION
Due to the pandemic, we will not be holding a summer intensive performance this year. The summer intensive will be entirely training-focused with no performance component. FOOD AND DRINK
Please bring a large water bottle, generous healthy lunch, and two light snacks. Students will have access to refrigerators or microwaves during the intensive and may plan accordingly.
As of now, we are planning to lift our mask requirement beginning on Tuesday, May 25. However, we will keep an eye on Covid metrics and restrictions in our county and will revert to requiring masks if/when it is prudent. In the meantime, we will continue to provide ample opportunity for social distancing and will limit student movement around the building.
LIMITED VIRTUAL OPTION
Students who are placed under quarantine or isolation will be encouraged to transfer to another summer intensive week, if enrollment availability allows. If a transfer is not possible, a quarantined student may participate in the full intensive schedule virtually, via Zoom. Please note that the Zoom option is not available for reasons outside of Covid mandated quarantine.
ATTENDANCE RECOMMENDATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
Students placed in PB Level 4 are strongly encouraged to attend FOUR weeks of summer intensive to maintain level-appropriate progress and improvement throughout the summer months. While four weeks are strongly recommended, the minimum mandatory requirement is three weeks for students placed in Level 4 for the 2021-2022 school year.
Students placed in PB Level 5 are strongly encouraged to attend FIVE weeks of summer intensive to maintain level-appropriate progress and improvement throughout the summer months. While five weeks are strongly recommended, the minimum mandatory requirement is three weeks for students placed in Level 5 for the 2021-2022 school year.
Students placed in the Advanced class are strongly encouraged to attend all SIX weeks of summer intensive to maintain level-appropriate progress and improvement throughout the summer months. While six weeks are strongly recommended, the minimum mandatory requirement is four weeks for students placed in the Advanced class for the 2021-2022 school year. Note: With the pre-approval of the Artistic Director, Advanced students may substitute an outside summer intensive program, rather than the Project Ballet summer intensive.
Project Ballet students who fail to meet the minimum attendance requirement for their level will be required to commit to a private lesson schedule in the Fall of 2021 that is equivalent to the training they missed in the summer.
If you are interested in joining us for the summer, please email the Artistic Director () for audition requirements and enrollment information. Enrollment for guest dancers will officially open on May 8, 2021.
