Our Advanced dancers train five days per week in ballet technique, pointe, contemporary dance, strength/flexibility, and men's technique. Advanced students have performance opportunities five times per year and regularly work with master teachers and guest choreographers to broaden their experiences and repertoire.
The Advanced level at Project Ballet is considered the final chapter in a student's training. Many dancers move to Fort Wayne to complete their training at Project Ballet. We have both high school and post-graduate students enrolled in our Advanced program. Our Advanced dancers regularly receive trainee, apprentice and second company offers directly from our training program. Dancers must make alternative schooling arrangements since Advanced classes are scheduled during the traditional school day. Most dancers attend school on-site through our Academic Conservatory.
Advanced dancers must also attend at least five weeks of Project Ballet's pre-professional summer intensive program, or seek equivalent training at an approved outside summer intensive program. This summer our Advanced students are studying (many on scholarship) at the School of American Ballet, Pacific Northwest Ballet, Boston Ballet, Ballet Austin, Carolina Ballet, Milwaukee Ballet, and more.
New students with previous experience must be evaluated by the Artistic Director before enrolling. Please email mcleish@projectballet.org to schedule an evaluation.
