Description
The Project Ballet pre-pro intensives are four-day intensives for pre-professional dancers looking to further their skills and artistry during the summer months. Dancers will have instruction in technique, pointe, men's class, contemporary, conditioning, repertory/variations and more!

Qualifications
This intensive is open to Project Ballet students placed in Level 4, Level 5 or Advanced for the 2024-2025 school year. Guest dancers with an equivalent level of training would generally be 12-18 years old and accustomed to daily ballet and pointe training. However, at Project Ballet, level placement is based on skill competency, rather than age, so this age range is meant as a guideline, not a restriction. Guest dancers will need to reach out to our Artistic Director, Beth McLeish, to schedule a level placement evaluation, prior to enrolling: mcleish@projectballet.org

Level Placement
Students will be split into two levels each week to ensure relatively equal and balanced class sizes. Level placement will depend entirely on the demographics of the enrolled students each week.

Tuition
Four Day Intensives are $325 per week. Currently enrolled PB dancers may use a discount code to receive $20 off their enrollment, per week, if they enroll by April 1, 2024. A minimum $50 deposit is due a registration. Payment plan options will be available at check-out.

Tuition is non-refundable. Tuition cannot be transferred, except in the case of documented illness or injury documented by a doctor's note. If a doctor's note is produced by 4:00pm on the Thursday prior to the Monday of the intensive week starting, then summer intensive tuition can be transferred into account credit to be used for future classes. Otherwise, tuition is forfeited.

Summer Attendance Requirement
Each week of the Upper Level Intensive will fulfill one week of our summer attendance requirement. PB students placed in Level 4 for the 2024-2025 school year must attend a minimum of three weeks of Project Ballet intensives. PB students placed in Level 5 for the 2024-2025 school year must attend a minimum of four weeks of Project Ballet intensives, or approved outside summer intensive. PB students placed in Advanced for the 2024-2025 school year must attend a minimum of five weeks of Project Ballet intensives, or approved outside summer intensive. Dancers who fail to meet this requirement, due to schedule conflicts, illness, injury, etc. will be required to complete an equivalent course of two private lessons per day missed (at an additional cost), or may elect to be demoted to a lower level in the fall equivalent to the amount of summer study they completed. From there, students will be re-promoted once they have regained the strength and technique they lost over the summer months.
